Terms of Service
Last updated: 15 August 2026
These Terms of Service are provided in English only.
Acceptance of These Terms
By creating an account, signing in, scanning a receipt or shelf photo, or uploading images, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use Trinie.
About Trinie
Trinie lets you scan grocery receipts and shelf tags in Aruba so you can see what you paid and compare prices across stores. The service is offered to help shoppers make informed decisions and continues to evolve over time, so features may be added, changed, or removed.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Trinie. By using the service you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Please tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
Business Users
If you use Trinie under a Business plan or organization account ("Business users"), these Terms apply to you and to anyone you invite to your organization.
For Business users, Trinie does not take a commercial license to sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit your uploaded images or organization expense content as a standalone data product. Business submissions are used only to operate, secure, and improve the Trinie service for you and your organization (for example OCR, expense organization, and support).
Business users remain responsible for ensuring they have the right to upload workplace or expense documents and for complying with applicable employment and privacy rules inside their organization.
Price Data
You may scan receipts or shelf tags and correct store names, items, and prices to help keep Trinie useful. Trinie may review, edit, combine, publish, and analyze submitted scan data to operate price comparison features.
User-Submitted Receipt and Product Images
When you upload a receipt or product photo, you confirm that you took the photo or otherwise have the right to grant this license.
You grant Trinie a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, resize, crop, and process the image and the text and price data extracted from it to operate, provide, secure, and improve Trinie—including showing your own scans back to you while your account is open, matching products, and producing aggregated price statistics.
Uploaded images are kept. Images are never shared publicly linked to your identity (your name, email, or account). Public features may show prices, product information, or derived illustrations without identifying you as the uploader.
Trinie will not sell or license your raw images to third parties as a data product. You keep any rights you have in your photo. Because receipts can contain personal details you chose to photograph, Trinie may remove or obscure that information, and you should avoid uploading images with information you do not want stored. Business users are also covered by the Business Users section above (no commercial license for Business submissions).
Automated and AI Processing
Trinie uses automated image processing and Google Gemini to extract receipt and shelf-tag information, match stores and products, translate product names, detect possible errors, and support service operations. AI processing is sent directly to the Google Gemini API.
When an AI feature is used, the uploaded image, extracted text, and instructions needed to perform the task may be transmitted to those service providers. Provider processing is subject to their applicable service terms, privacy commitments, security controls, and limited retention for safety, abuse prevention, or legal compliance. Trinie configures provider privacy controls where available but cannot guarantee that any automated result is complete or correct.
AI output is a draft for convenience. You must review receipt details, prices, store matches, totals, and any other extracted or suggested information before relying on it.
Acceptable Use
When using Trinie, you agree not to:
- Upload images that violate another person's rights or show identifiable people without their permission.
- Submit content that is private, sensitive, unlawful, misleading, or that you have no right to share.
- Disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape at scale, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service.
- Use Trinie for any purpose that is illegal or that could harm Trinie, its users, or third parties.
Your Responsibility
Do not upload images that violate another person's rights, contain private or sensitive information, or show people without permission. You are responsible for the content you submit and for making sure you have the right to share it.
Accuracy of Prices and Automated Results
Prices and automated results shown in Trinie may be out of date, incomplete, incorrectly extracted, incorrectly matched, or otherwise wrong. Prices can change at any time and vary by store. Trinie does not guarantee that any price, classification, total, translation, alert, or other output is current or accurate. Always confirm source documents and in-store prices before relying on them.
No Professional Advice
Trinie provides informational tools only. It does not provide tax, accounting, financial, legal, medical, or other professional advice, and no automated result or alert should be treated as such. Consult a qualified professional before making decisions in those areas.
Service Provided "As Is"
Trinie is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data it contains is accurate or complete.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trinie, Wise in Motion Engineering N.V., and their personnel and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages, or for losses arising from reliance on prices, automated output, alerts, classifications, translations, or other service content. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude.
Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms or misuse the service. You may stop using Trinie and close your account at any time. When you close your account, your personal account details are removed and your uploads are unlinked from your identity. Uploaded images are kept, and are never shared publicly linked to your identity. Aggregated, anonymized price data may also be retained.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Aruba, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes relating to Trinie will be handled by the competent courts of Aruba, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Trinie after changes means you accept the updated terms.
