Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 July 2026
Acceptance of These Terms
By creating an account, signing in, scanning a receipt or shelf photo, or uploading images, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use Trinie.
About Trinie
Trinie lets you scan grocery receipts and shelf tags in Aruba so you can see what you paid and compare prices across stores. The service is offered to help shoppers make informed decisions and continues to evolve over time, so features may be added, changed, or removed.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use Trinie. By using the service you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Please tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
Price Data
You may scan receipts or shelf tags and correct store names, items, and prices to help keep Trinie useful. Trinie may review, edit, combine, publish, and analyze submitted scan data.
User-Submitted Receipt and Product Images
When you upload a receipt or product photo, you confirm that you took the photo or otherwise have the right to grant this license.
You grant Trinie a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, resize, crop, and process the image and the text and price data extracted from it, solely to operate, provide, secure, and improve Trinie's service—including displaying your own scans back to you and producing aggregated, anonymized price statistics.
Trinie will not sell or license your images to third parties, and will not sell the raw image itself as a data product. You keep any rights you have in your photo.
This license ends when you delete the image or close your account, except for anonymized price data that has already been aggregated and for backups awaiting routine deletion. Because receipts can contain personal details you chose to photograph, Trinie may remove or obscure that information, and you should avoid uploading images with information you do not want stored.
Acceptable Use
When using Trinie, you agree not to:
- Upload images that violate another person's rights or show identifiable people without their permission.
- Submit content that is private, sensitive, unlawful, misleading, or that you have no right to share.
- Disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape at scale, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service.
- Use Trinie for any purpose that is illegal or that could harm Trinie, its users, or third parties.
Your Responsibility
Do not upload images that violate another person's rights, contain private or sensitive information, or show people without permission. You are responsible for the content you submit and for making sure you have the right to share it.
Accuracy of Prices
Prices shown in Trinie come from receipts and shelf tags submitted by users and may be out of date, incomplete, or incorrect. Prices can change at any time and vary by store, and Trinie does not guarantee that any price is current or accurate. Always confirm prices in-store before relying on them.
Service Provided "As Is"
Trinie is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data it contains is accurate or complete.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trinie and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on prices, data, or other content in the service.
Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms or misuse the service. You may stop using Trinie and close your account at any time. When you close your account, your uploaded images are deleted as described above; aggregated, anonymized price data may be retained.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Aruba, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes relating to Trinie will be handled by the competent courts of Aruba, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Trinie after changes means you accept the updated terms.
